Baranya County and the Pannon European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation cordially invite stakeholders to the Resilient Borders – Cross-border cooperation in water risk management Hungarian–Croatian conference.
Invitation to the "Enhancing Flood and Drought Resilience Along the River Drava" Conference

Date: 22 September 2025
Venue: Pécs, Papnövelde u. 5.

The conference is part of the project “Enhancing Flood and Drought Resilience Along the River Drava” (Resilient Borders), an EU co-funded initiative that brings together partners from the Hungarian-Croatian border region. The project aims to strengthen the resilience of cross-border territories against climate-related water risks – such as floods and droughts – through joint planning, innovative tools, and shared knowledge.

Within the framework of Enhancing Flood and Drought Resilience Along the River Drava, a Drava Action Plan has been prepared for the Hungarian–Croatian border area. This Action Plan introduces forward-looking concepts such as:

- the “Drava Data Bridge”, a digital platform for real-time hydrological data exchange,

- the “Drava Water Bank”, a joint approach to water resource management across the border,

- and the “Drava Resilience Academy”, a programme for capacity building, training, and knowledge-sharing among local stakeholders.

The conference will provide an opportunity to:

- present the Action Plan to experts, policymakers and local actors,

- share experiences and best practices from both sides of the border,

- and build new partnerships for future cooperation.
