Pannon EGTC Joins the Climate Bridges Network

The Network is an international cooperation platform focused on strengthening climate-related collaboration, particularly in the Western Balkans. The initiative brings together civil society organizations and professional partners to support the green transition in the region and promote the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans. The project is supported by the European Climate Initiative (EUKI).

The Climate Bridges Network seeks to build closer cooperation between civil society actors, municipalities, research institutions, and other stakeholders committed to climate action. It emphasizes cross-border collaboration, mutual learning, sharing of good practices, and the development of practical, locally applicable solutions. The network centers its work around the countries of the Western Balkans – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia – while involving partners from neighboring EU countries including Hungary, Croatia, and Slovenia.

For Pannon EGTC, joining the network opens new opportunities to put its existing international partnerships in the service of climate-related goals and to contribute more actively to regional cooperation. Our organization has long supported the European integration of Western Balkan countries and remains committed to promoting sustainable development, environmental responsibility, and cross-border partnerships. Our members and partners include many municipalities and higher education institutions from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, providing a solid basis for meaningful engagement within the network.

As a member of the Climate Bridges Network, we look forward to becoming part of a professional community that seeks practical answers to climate policy challenges and supports their regional implementation. Participating in knowledge-sharing, joint initiatives and expert events will strengthen our collective contribution to the green transition of the region. We believe this cooperation will lead to tangible results for the participating organizations and for the local communities they serve, while also improving the region’s capacity to adapt to climate change.

Pannon EGTC is committed to actively contributing to the work of the Climate Bridges Network and to putting its knowledge, experience and partnerships in service of the network’s shared mission. We believe that only through dialogue, cooperation and joint action across borders can we find effective solutions to the climate challenges of our time.
