Pannon EGTC at the Interreg CAPITALISATION Conference – Highlighting Integrated Territorial Governance

The event focused on advancing results from transnational and cross-border cooperation projects, encouraging new synergies and partnerships in preparation for the upcoming strategic call for capitalisation.
Pannon EGTC contributed to the “Strengthening Governance for Integrated Territorial Development” thematic workshop held on 27 May. This session explored how project results can be embedded into long-term governance processes and how programmes and stakeholders can scale up impact by incorporating successful outcomes into policies and strategies.
During the afternoon workshop, Pannon EGTC presented the CBJointStrategy project through a poster session. The project developed a participatory cross-border development strategy for the entire Hungary–Croatia border region, involving 11 counties and led by a local EGTC. The strategy was designed through a bottom-up, inclusive process, engaging numerous local stakeholders and directly contributing to the planning of the Interreg Hungary–Croatia Programme 2021–2027.
The poster showcased key project outputs: a territorial analysis, a digital consultation platform, the joint strategy document, and a pipeline of strategic project ideas. Participants expressed strong interest in the model presented, particularly in relation to enhancing the role of local EGTCs, advancing cross-border strategic planning, and promoting participatory governance.
The workshop created space for fruitful exchange and the foundation for future cooperation. Pannon EGTC remains open to collaborating with other regions to pilot and further develop the CBJointStrategy approach, contributing to more coordinated, inclusive, and integrated territorial governance in Central Europe.
