The First Open Call for Proposals of the HU-HR CBC is Now Open

The Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of Croatia, as the Managing Authority of the program, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, as the Hungarian National Authority, published the first call for proposals of the Interreg VI-A Hungary-Croatia Program on September 2, 2024.

he submission deadline is November 29, 2024, at 12:00 PM (CET), as recorded in the INTERREG+ system. Any submission attempts after this deadline will be blocked by the INTERREG+ application module, meaning that late applications will not be accepted.

During the information day held in Pécs on September 17, 2025, participants received detailed insights into the call for proposals.

The program aims to strengthen cross-border cooperation between Hungary and Croatia. Supported projects focus on innovation, sustainability, economic development, and social cohesion. The HUHR-2401 call for proposals is the first of its kind under the 2021–2027 period.

During the event, the eligible applicants were introduced, including municipalities, non-profit organizations, research institutions, businesses, and other entities. Detailed information was provided on the funding framework, the financial scope of the support, and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) contributions, as well as the co-financing requirements.

Key Priority Areas of the Program:

  • Innovation and Economic Development: Promotion of cross-border business development, research, and innovation.
  • Greener and More Sustainable Region: Environmental protection projects, climate adaptation, and renewable energy solutions.
  • Transport and Infrastructure Development: Improving cross-border mobility and transport networks.
  • Cultural and Social Cooperation: Supporting local communities, cultural, and tourism cooperation.
